Instructions:

  1. Melt butter in a pan and add the flour. Stir until the flour is cooked and everything looks brownish.
  2. Add in all the tomatoes and stir until mixed. Mixture should be fairly thick.
  3. Mash any large tomatoes into bite size pieces.
  4. Season to taste with salt and sugar. Canned tomatoes can vary quite a bit so this is important. It should be somewhat sweet and not bitter.
  5. Place pie crust into pie pan and add tomato filling.
  6. Cover liberally with breadcrumbs.
  7. Bake in a 375 degree oven for about 15 minutes or until crust is done and the breadcrumbs are browning.
